  1. It's 800 grm of Chicken breast cubes.
  2. Prepare 1 cup of Raw rice.
  3. Prepare 1/4 cup of Bengal gram or chana dal.
  4. Prepare 1/4 cup of Pigeon pea lentils or toor dal.
  5. You need 1/4 cup of Red lentils.
  6. You need 1/4 cup of Black gram or urad dal.
  7. Prepare 1 1/2 cups of broken wheat or daliya.
  8. You need 1/4 cup of Ghee.
  9. It's 1/4 cup of Oil.
  10. Prepare 1 1/2 tbsp of salt.
  11. Prepare 2 tsp of red chilli powder.
  12. You need 1 tsp of blackpepper powder.
  13. It's 1 tsp of turmeric.
  14. It's 1 tsp of garam masala.
  15. You need 2 cups of fried onions.
  16. You need 3 of green chillies chopped.
  17. You need 2 tbsp of ginger garlic paste.
  18. It's 1 cup of curd.
  19. Prepare 1/4 cup of coriander leaves finely chopped.
  20. You need 1/4 cup of mint leaves finely chopped.
  21. You need 1/4 cup of Ginger Juliennes.
  22. It's 5-6 of lemon wedges.
  23. It's 2 of cinnamon sticks (whole garam masala or khada masala).
  24. Prepare 10 of blackpepper corns.
  25. You need 10 of cloves.
  26. It's 1 tsp of caraway seeds.

Hyderabadi Chicken Khichda step by step

  1. First of all deep fry the onions and set aside. Soak rice, broken wheat and lentils overnight..
  2. In a pressure cooker, add soaked rice and lentils along with half a litre of water. Add salt to taste and pressure cook for 6 whistles..
  3. Meanwhile cook broken wheat in a pot until done. Cover and simmer on a low heat for about 20 to 25 minutes..
  4. Now to another cooking pot, add oil and ginger garlic paste along with all the 5 khada masalas mentioned. Fry them all for a minute and then add the chicken cubes. Also add all the spices along with the beaten curd and cook until done. After done, mash it well with a masher and keep aside..
  5. To this cooked chicken add the pressure cooked rice and lentil mix. Let the broken wheat cool down a bit before grinding it to a smooth paste. Or better still use a traditional gothni that is used for mashing it..
  6. Add this broken wheat to the chicken and lentil mix first and then mash it if using a traditional gothni. Also add fried onions..
  7. Add ghee to it along with chopped coriander and mint leaves. Adjust salt and sprinkle garam masala on top. Serve it hot with lemon wedges, fried onions and ginger juliennes..
